Another rehearsal today and room 423, under the conduction of John Finney, is sounding good. The harmonies on Come Thou Fount are euphonious, as a hummingbird’s shrill tweet at sundown. With the trip rapidly approaching, we see a developing harmony amongst choir members as well. Friendships blossom with the development of each measure and every dissonant chord is resolved with the agreement of all. Will it be the mighty churches or the subtle bends in the Danube river that strikes a chord with you? Or maybe the long conversations you will have every night before bed? Think about it, and next time we’re together think not about your own voice but about everyone’s. For it is this congregation of sound and soul that makes a choir great.
