Auditions

Thank you so much for your interest in the University Chorale of Boston College!  We are thrilled that you want to become a part of our organization and we can’t wait to hear you sing. 

Rehearsals for the University Chorale are on Mondays 4:30-6:30PM and Thursdays from 4:30-6PM.

We host auditions during the first two weeks of the fall semester, and the first week of the spring semester. The Chorale office is located on the fourth floor of Lyons Hall, room 426. We also ask that you arrive a few minutes early to your audition time to fill out a short audition form. Audition dates for the Fall 2025 semester can be found below.

For your audition, you will be asked to prepare one of three short song choices: 1) My Country Tis of Thee, 2) Boston College’s very own fight song, “For Boston,” or 3) a 1 minute excerpt from a song of your choosing.  We created a Google Drive with all the materials necessary for your audition. It contains two recordings entitled “Chorale Audition Prep Recording”– one with My Country Tis of Thee and one with For Boston. If you are choosing to sing your own song, we ask that you please print out your own sheet music. Sheet music for My Country Tis of Thee and For Boston will be provided for you if you choose one of those options.

Additionally, there will be some voice/pitch matching and other vocal exercises to get to know your voice and further assess your fit with the Chorale.

While at your audition, you may also indicate whether or not you are interested in auditioning for the Chamber Singers. More specific information about the Chamber audition process can be found on that page.
