2013 – Rome

BC Chorale Rome 2013 1In March 2013, the University Chorale set off to Rome, where we performed Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican, and had additional performances at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels and Martyrs and the Church of St. Ignatius.

The Chorale had the unique experience of being in Vatican City immediately after the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI, when there was no active pope.  Along with seeing the usual tourist attractions such as the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and the Pantheon, we had two days toourselves to explore the hidden wonders of the city.

For the optional trip excursion the Chorale ventured to Assisi where it visited the Basilica of Saint Francis and the Basilcia of Santa Maria degli Angeli. Photos courtesy of Jose Magraner and Mary Ellen Royer.
